ENTREPRENEURSHIP GURU HELPS LOCAL FIRMS SURVIVE AND THRIVE!

Business expert Robert Craven and his team at The Directors’ Centre are talking to over 2000 UK businesses about how to get more sales, profits and customers.

The half-day workshops, "Let’s Talk... More Profit" and "Let’s Talk… Bright Marketing" are based on his best-selling business books including "Kick-Start Your Business" and "Bright Marketing". They take place in 17 towns throughout the UK in October and November. The events are being run by Barclays Bank and demand for places is already high.

Robert and his fellow speakers, Kiki Maurey and Louise Nicolaou, will also use materials from his latest book "Beating The Credit Crunch" which will show how businesses have beaten the current economic downturn. The FT describes Craven as "the entrepreneurship guru".

Craven says, "The ‘Let’s Talk…’ workshops are a brilliant opportunity to step back, think about what you are trying to do and start to make decisions that will fundamentally improve the profitability of your business; in the current economic climate this is more important than ever."

Tickets should be £225, but are free to small businesses signing up through the Directors’ Centre website,

Saw this via LinkedIn.

Credit Crunch is a great book. To the point. No messing. Difficult to get hold of a copy! Why is that?

Look forward to seeing you in Luton. I'll see how good you are.

The book was released as a limited edition imprint of The Directors' Centre - this meant that the tunraround time from me finishing it to it being in print (with a cover, proofread, edited, - all twice over and then available in print) was under three weeks. You can always get it from the website www.directorscentre.com

Why it is not available in most shops is a long story about the issuing of ISBN numbers which I won't bore you with.

Should I read the Bright Marketing book first?

Be there or be square. I am coming and bringing some clients to the Cambridge event - as Patrick asked, is there any pre-work that might be helpful?

There is no need to read the BM book before the event - it might be better to read it afterwards. Hope you've managed to get your copy of BM now

No pre-work required - but do bring along loads of busines cards and any marketing materials/brochures etc that you might have (as most people run out)

Cheers

Saw you in Barry today. Will be at the Newport event with Kiki. How are the events different: Bright Marketing, More Profit and 10 Things I am Going to Do? More of the same? Is Kiki like you? Why are Barclays involved? Was the credit scoring thing theirs?

To answer your questions in order:

Q: "How are the events different: Bright Marketing, More Profit and 10 Things I am Going to Do?"

A: BM is 80% on marketing and sales; MP is 70% on profit; 10 things is a general overview. Because MP & BM start with the question 'what do you want from today?' so the agenda is determined by the audience. Yes there is always an overlap which simply reinforces some of the key messages and the general approach.

Q: Is Kiki like you?

A: Yes and no. She has the same 'challenging' approach and lots of experience to share. Always goes down really well. See her and let me know.

Q: Why are Barclays involved?

A: Barclays run the events as part of their commitment to helping the local small business communities. Without their involvement the ticket price would be considerably more than zero.

Q: Was the credit scoring thing theirs?

A: Yes - google on Barclays credit focus and you will find it

Hello Bev! Are you there? Just missed you? saw your To Do list in the more recent post - thought you might find this one.

Cambridge was similarly impressive. Snuck in through the 'back door'to avoid the bankers but actually they were rather good. I'll rephrase it. I spoke to two who impressed me.
